Program Description:
This AIB course will provide participants with the
background required to interact successfully with
customers while maintaining compliance with Fair
Lending laws and regulations. The seminar examines
fair treatment of customers and distinguishes the
three types of discrimination as defined in the federal
Joint Policy Statement on Discrimination in
Lending. Participants develop personal action plans to
ensure compliance, and participate in a bank selfassessment
exercise as a post-seminar activity.
After successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Describe the Fair Lending philosophy of your bank
- Explain the laws and regulations related to Fair Lending
- Explain the importance of adhering to a Fair Lending policy
- Identify the three types of discrimination
- Formulate a personal action plan to ensure Fair Lending compliance
Who Should Attend:
Bank personnel who have customer contact and who
deal with consumer and real estate credit transactions
or sales; processing, underwriting, and compliance
personnel; and anyone wishing to update or refresh
his or her knowledge of Fair Lending laws.
