Program Description:
Pre-Accounting provides a basic understanding to accounting concepts and terms. This course is designed for the student with little or no experience in accounting. Emphasis throughout the Pre-Accounting course is on the accounting process.
After successfully completing this course, the student will be able to:
- Explain the differences between accounting and bookkeeping, and understand the importance of accounting in business
- Explain the accounting equation and elements: assets, liabilities, and proprietorship
- Analyze, record, journalize, and post basic transactions
- Describe the basics of a balance sheet, income statement, and trial balance
Who Should Attend:
Students who have had no experience in accounting, but need a better understanding of it in order to perform their job. This course is recommended as a prerequisite for Accounting I.
