Program Description:

The CFT/CBW Commercial Lending School was created to provide mid-level bank officers and commercial loan officers a thorough understanding of commercial lending administration. The purpose of the school is to provide that information by:

  • Focusing on the operating cycle of a business, and the key variables for long-term success
  • Helpingstudents develop their analytical skills and management evaluation techniques
  • Acquiring an awareness of the economic environment and how it affects the lending decision
  • Understanding the borrower and loan management alternatives available to a lender in the event of loan default
  • Providing a strong foundation of financial analysis, along with in-depth case studies that allow the student to apply lessons learned

Format:

Studies have proven that adults recall only 10% of a presentation they hear after just 48 hours. The CFT/CBW Commercial Lending School has been designed to overcome that statistic by:

  • Scheduling sessions over six months instead of five consecutive days
  • Breaking information into manageable chunks
  • Reviewing key concepts throughout the school to make those points stick
  • Making the information relevant through relevant through real life case studies
  • Encouraging group discussion
  • Allowing participants time between sessions to go back to their bank, apply what they have learned, find out what works and what doesn't, and then come back and ask questions

Graduation Requirements:

Completion of the CFT/CBW Commercial Lending School requires:

  • Attendance at all structured lecture and case study sessions
  • completion of all additional assignments that may be required by the faculty
